FAQ:
 1. What is an ambulatory EEG?: Ambulatory EEG is performing EEG at a patient's home or a place other than a hospital.

2. How long does ambulatory EEG take? : Typically, in-home ambulatory EEGs last 72 hours. This gives enough data for the Neurologist to be able to looks for seizure activity or any abnormalities. This makes the test more effective and makes it easier to rule in or rule out seizure activity.

3. Is the test uncomfortable? : Short answer is No. Our technicians are experienced and very good with setups. You will have leads placed on your head and then they will wrap your head lightly to prevent displacement of the leads. This is not painful and we seldom hear any of our patients complain about any discomfort

4. Why is video needed? : Video monitoring is key to look for seizure activity or any changes that might lead us closer to making a diagnosis. We ask that you try to stay in front of the camera as much as possible. This is similar to when patients are monitored in an epilepsy monitoring unit at a Hospital where there are multiple  cameras monitoring for any seizures activity. We use one camera which allows for patient privacy and also gives us the data we need. We ask that you do not cover the camera as this might overheat it.

5. Can I travel? :  No. Patients can run in and out of the house or go down to the store a block down, but we don't want our patients traveling or driving when they have the equipment. If set up is done at a doctors office, we ask that someone drive you back to your house.
